Keith Groves

@keithta2r

With more than 30 years of tattooing — most of them spent right here in Middle Tennessee — Keith Groves is a veteran of the craft. Known for his love of black and grey work (especially when skulls are involved), Keith brings decades of skill and sharp artistry to every piece he creates.

His influences span both tattooing and fine art. On the tattoo side, legends like Ed Hardy, Tom Renshaw, Brian Everette, and Jack Rudy shaped his style. In the broader art world, Keith draws inspiration from visionaries such as Robert Motherwell, Salvador Dalí, and the incomparable H.R. Giger — who remains one of his greatest sources of creative fire.

Outside the studio, Keith is a husband of 24 years, father of two daughters, and caretaker of two loyal pups, Boidog and Girl Dog. He has also practiced martial arts since high school, studying Japanese Karate (Goju Shorei), Wing Chun, Filipino Kali, and Malaysian Silat.

Favorite Quote: Keith has a few favorites, but one that stands out is, “Age is a case of mind over matter; if you don’t mind, it don’t matter.” With his trademark wit, he admits, “I forget the rest… I’m getting old, ya know?”
